River Fishing Report
Weber River (Below Rockport Reservoir): 96 c.f.s.
All eyes will be looking to the Weeby Jeeby here shortly. Larger reservoir fish have a tendency to push up stream this time of year. It is not uncommon to see several massive browns produced within the next couple of weeks that would not necessarily be resident fishes. Look for midge in the mornings and evenings respectfully. Midges are a year round staple: much like the infamous Utah strain of sow bug. Do not underestimate the power of the midge! While I would love to report great surface feeding opportunities on the Weber... your best chance of being productive will still be sub-surface. The classic caddis larva / sow combo with a side of whitey attracting flash will keep your rod bent most of the day. Streamer fishing can filter out the mighty whitey hook up ratio; but make for a slower overall day. Please remember to be respectful of property owners and fellow anglers. After all; we are all in this thing together!
