Current River Condition

The West Prong and Middle Prong of the Little River will be quieter, less crowded waters to fish. The Middle Prong can be accessed by Tremont Road and the West Prong by the West Prong Trail (also on Tremont Road). These two prongs converge just in side the park from Townsend and flow downstream to meet the main stem at the "Y" a popular swimming and tubing area. The "Y" to "The Sinks" will be good fishable water but crowded at times. "The Sinks" upstream to Elkmont will have areas of slow flat water but for the most part will be a good fishing river. The Little River Trail is the only way to access the river as it ascends to the ridge top above the Elkmont Campground. The river will remain a sizeable fishing stream for a few miles. Further up the trail on Fish Camp Prong you will have a chance for some Brookies.
