Current River Condition
The Middle Prong, from the ranger station upstream to the confluence of Porter's Creek, has been producing numbers but not so much in the way of size. Last year's drought has taken a toll on the larger fish. Larger fish have moved to bigger water that will hold a cooler temperature for longer. Porter's Creek has been producing number's as well but with the rain deficit has been tight-quarters fishing. The confluence upstream to the Ramsay Cascade trailhead will be the same with less and less fishable water being available as the elevation increases. Brook trout and/or rainbow trout are possible all along the Ramsay Cascade trail. Water levels are the best we have seen in years.

River News
This river will be the main stream running through the Greenbriar area. It is around a 15-20 minute drive northeast of Gatlinburg.
Flashfloods in this area do occur. Be careful if you see clouds on the ridge tops. Water can rise very fast and have hidden debris being washed down. Flash floods can occur and be more ferocious with the low water levels.
Smaller fish continue to be caught on a fairly consistent basis.
